SoundtrackNet has learned that acclaimed film composer Danny Elfman has been commissioned by world-renouned conductor John Mauceri to write a new work to be premiered at the Hollywood Bowl this fall.
Mauceri is leaving the Hollywood Bowl, after 16-years, and to celebrate, the Bowl is throwing a "once-in-a-lifetime party". Due to appear are Tony Award-winner Kristin Chenoweth, Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy, and members of the Joffrey Ballet.
Along with the Elfman piece, pieces by Richard Rodney Bennett and Adam Guettel will also premiere that evening. And don't forget the fireworks!
